About LIMBO.NYC
We Don't Make Clothes. We Remake Them.
LIMBO.NYC exists in the space between what something was and what it can become. Every piece we make starts its life somewhere else — a forgotten pair of jeans, a worn-out jacket, a fabric with a history. We take it apart, study it, and rebuild it into something entirely new.
No two pieces are the same. That's not a marketing line — it's just the truth of how we work.
The Process
Each LIMBO piece goes through a hands-on reconstruction process that can take anywhere from a few hours to several days. We source deadstock denim, vintage garments, and surplus fabric — materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill — and break them down to their essential components.
From there, it's a process of intuition and craft: cutting, reworking seams, combining panels from different sources, and finishing by hand. We don't use templates. Every cut is a decision. Every stitch is intentional.
The result is a garment that carries the weight of its past while wearing something completely new.
Why Upcycling
The fashion industry is one of the most wasteful on the planet. We're not here to lecture — we're here to do something about it, one piece at a time.
Upcycling isn't a trend for us. It's the only way we know how to make things. By working with what already exists, we reduce waste, extend the life of quality materials, and create pieces that are genuinely rare — because they are.
When you buy from LIMBO.NYC, you're not buying a product off a production line. You're buying the only one of its kind.
One-of-a-Kind, Always
Every item in our shop is listed once. When it's gone, it's gone — we can't restock it, because there's nothing to restock. The materials that made it don't exist in that exact combination anywhere else.
We photograph each piece carefully so you can see exactly what you're getting: the texture, the patchwork, the details that make it what it is. What you see is what exists.
Based in New York
LIMBO.NYC is made in New York City. Small operation, high standards. We care deeply about the quality of every piece that leaves our hands, and we stand behind everything we make.
If you have questions about a specific piece — the materials, the fit, the construction — reach out. We're happy to talk through it.
